June 16, 2015
SEATTLE, Wash. (June 16, 2015)Lighthouse, a leader in technology-enabled eDiscovery services and consulting, today announced that John Olson has been promoted to director of Focus Discovery. In this new role, Olson will lead a team of former review attorneys and data analysis experts to create and execute the most efficient analysis, review, and categorization protocols for any given matter.
Prior to Focus Discovery, Olson was the director of Hosted Solutions, where he led and managed a team of review database project managers. While under his leadership, the Hosted Solutions team successfully met case needs, drove cost reduction, and enhanced review consistency for their clients. Before joining Lighthouse, Olson was a staff attorney in the e-Discovery Analysis and Technology Group at K&L Gates, where he advised clients and co-counsel on eDiscovery issues and strategy with particular focus on privilege issues. He handled eDiscovery in a wide variety of matters including complex litigation, government and internal investigations, and corporate mergers. In this role he also acted as the project management liaison between clients, counsel, review attorneys, vendors, and technical support staff, coordinating and supervising all technical aspects of eDiscovery. Before moving to Seattle, Olson practiced law in both New York City and Boston, much of it involving discovery and motion practice in document intensive litigation as it evolved into eDiscovery.
"John is a creative and talented industry leader, and he holds more than 20 years of experience in the discovery industry," said Beau Holt, vice president of Service Delivery, Lighthouse. "Utilizing his deep technical knowledge and clear subject matter expertise relating to document review best practices, John has carried Focus Discovery from an idea to a fully-functional service offering, outlined the workflows, and driven the launch of Lighthouse's latest service. We at Lighthouse are thrilled to have someone like John in place to guide Focus Discovery."
By consulting and strategically deploying proprietary Lighthouse processes using a technology guided approach, Olson and the Focus Discovery team will work to meet client goals of data reduction, prioritization, and determination. Olson will work to ensure that his team supports clients by navigating various stages of eDiscovery, including pre-review analytics, the predictive coding process, conceptual analysis, privilege review categorization, and privilege log creation.
