Company hires expert to grow consulting business that aims to drive additional value and cost savings for clients.
SEATTLE, Wash. (June 4, 2014) – Lighthouse, a leader in technology-enabled ediscovery services, today announced that industry veteran Jason Velasco has joined the company as the Director of Consulting. Additionally, the company announced that it is expanding its consulting business to include additional services and capabilities focused on the left side of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM).
By growing its consulting business, the company aims to assist clients early in the ediscovery process, helping them save money downstream. Some areas of focus include advising clients with expanded capabilities in litigation and ediscovery preparedness, information governance, and the implementation of behind-the-firewall collections, culling and processing tools and best practices.
“Lighthouse is becoming well known for its innovation around best-of-breed technologies like Nuix, Relativity and Equivio, fueled by its broad expertise in those tools and best practices in ediscovery,” said Brian McManus, Chief Executive Officer of Lighthouse. “As we’ve grown, there has been increasing demand from our clients and our prospects to apply that expertise to the full spectrum of the EDRM. We are excited to add Jason to our expanding consulting team and even further broaden our capabilities to serve clients in this industry.”
Prior to joining Lighthouse, Velasco played significant contributing and leading roles in the industry, most recently serving as a Principal Analyst for the eDJ Group, an organization focused on thought leadership and industry analysis. Velasco was responsible for conducting market and product analysis, providing ediscovery and information governance consulting services, and running day-to-day operations. Before the eDJ Group, he built and managed ediscovery consulting organizations at Merrill, KPMG, and Renew Data. Velasco has also been a frequent contributor to various thought leadership organizations, including the EDRM, The Sedona Conference, and ARMA (Association of Records Manager and Administrators).
